John Mahoy Feb. 6, 1950 - June 27, 1991
John E. Mahoy, 41, of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday in Culver Union Hospital from injuries sustained in a fall at Nucor Steel. Mr. Mahoy was employed at Nucor for two years. He served in the U.S. Navy; was a former member of Potato Creek Church; and a member of the American Legion and the Tractor Pulling Association. He was a graduate of Darlington High School. He was born Feb. 6, 1950, at Crawfordsville to Have and Hilma Crowder Mahoy. He married Cathy Daniels Jan. 20, 1979, at Darlington. She survives. Also surviving are a son, John Daniel at home; a step-daughter, Christina Cox, also at home; a brother, David of Lebanon; two sisters, Carol Mahoy of Tampa, Fla. and Joann Anderson of West Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Darlington Chapel, with the Rev. Dick Baker officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
